Purpose:
Lions clubs in both Florida and the Bahamas sponsor unknown thousands of local projects, from vision screenings, to little league teams & parks, to scholarships, to testing for glaucoma & diabetes, to hearing tesiing & aids, to guide dogs for the visually impaired & blind, to hearing dogs for those with hearing imparities, to building a ramp at a home where one is needed, to providing clothing for the homeless, & the list goes on and on as long as there is a need.
Lions clubs are not limited in what they can do— it all depends on the local club and their abilities and membership.
And the greatest part of being a member of the world's largest community service organization is that all funds received from the public are retumed to the public through community projects and service. Never are any of the funds used for the purpose of the clubs' administrative needs, as that is accomplished by the members through membership fees.
